Skokie Location

Hebrew Seminary of the Deaf classes are conducted in the Congregation Bene Shalom,Hebrew Association of the Deaf, building located in Skokie, Illinois, a suburb located just north of Chicago. Based on our affiliation with Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City, our rabbinical students study at the main campus in Manhattan during their fourth year.

Chicago has a large deaf community and, through HSD’s relationship with Congregation Bene Shalom, students are part of an established and active Jewish deaf community.

The Chicago area location of Hebrew Seminary of the Deaf gives our students access to numerous universities and major libraries including Spertus and Hebrew Theological College.

Hebrew Seminary of the Deaf works with students who qualify to assist them with housing needs.
